All of us know that mobile market is plenty of new announcements every day, so we need to learn new things every single day.
Ice Cream Sandwich (a.k.a. Android 4.0) brings an improved version of the hardware-accelerated 2D rendering pipeline launched earlier this year in Android 3.0 to support hardware acceleration on tablets. With this new pipeline, all drawing operations performed by the UI toolkit are carried out using the GPU.

How to enable hardware acceleration for the first time?

Hardware acceleration is on by default for all applications in API level 14 (Android 4.0). For apps at lower API levels, you can turn it on by adding android:hardwareAccelerated="true" to the <application> tag in your AndroidManifest.xml.
